Please join us March 24th, 2020 at The Westin Virginia Beach Town Center for a dinner presentation from Mr. Rick Correa, Senior Project Manager with VDOT Hampton Roads District Major Projects, on the I-64 Southside Widening and High Rise Bridge Phase 1 project. Social hour begins at 5:30pm with dinner starting promptly at 6:30pm. The presentation kicks off at 7:00pm and is typically wrapped up by 8:00pm. One PDH will be available.

This presentation will provide an overview and status of the I-64 Southside Widening and High Rise Bridge Phase 1 Project – a $410 Million, 10-mile, interstate widening, design-build project in Chesapeake, VA. The project will increase capacity, improve safety, reduce congestion, and enhance a regional evacuation route on the Southside of Hampton Roads.

Rick Correa is a Senior Project Manager with VDOT with over 30 years of engineering experience. He is a registered professional engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering. Rick has been managing projects for VDOT since 2006, including several major projects such as the Gilmerton Bridge Replacement, the I-64/I-264 Pavement Rehabilitations, and the Dominion Blvd Improvements. He is currently the VDOT Project Manager on the I-64 Southside Widening and High Rise Bridge Phase 1 Project.

Before coming to VDOT, Rick worked for consultants doing bridge design. He has participated in the design of over 60 bridges, including the Route 895 Pocahontas Parkway Bridge over the James River in Richmond, the Chincoteague Bridge Replacement, and the Route 1 Bridge Replacement over I-95 in Alexandria.

This dinner meeting will be held at The Westin Virginia Beach Town Center with a social hour from 5:30pm to 6:30pm followed promptly by dinner and the presentation. Cost is $35 for ASHE Members/VDOT staff and $45 for Non-Members. Payment can be made through the PayPal link below or at the door.
